You train every part of your swimming.

Why leave your mindset to chance?

Are you leaving one of your most powerful performance levers untrained?

Start training your mindset just like you train endurance, strength, starts, turns and underwaters.

THE CHALLENGE:

Mindset Content is Everywhere.

Mindset training is not.

✖ Books — Lots of good ideas, but difficult to fit into a swimmer's training. Ideas get forgotten without ongoing repetition and application.

✖ Traditional online courses — Static and one-size-fits-all.  Often don't get completed.

✖ One-off talks — Can be useful in the moment, but there's no ongoing practice or application.

✖ 1:1 coaching — Personalized, but expensive and not always specific to swimming.

✖ Social media — Plenty of ideas, but little structure for putting them into practice.

INTRODUCING

The Swim Mindset Collective

Train your mindset just like you train everything else

The Swim Mindset Collective is different:

  • Season long - mindset training is built into your ongoing training, not saved for championship season.
  • Dynamic - new lessons and challenges keep you thinking, practicing and applying what you learn.
  • Swim-specific - created by swimmers, for swimmers, with the realities of competitive swimming at the center.
  • Actionable - learn the concepts, then practice how to use them when it matters.
  • Individualized - no cookie-cutter solutions. Each swimmer creates their own personal mindset formula.

What's Included In The Swim Mindset Collective:

FOUNDATIONAL MODULES

Five video lessons that introduce the key ideas behind the Swim Mindset Collective:

  1. Why Mindset?
  2. Navigating the Championship Meet
  3. The Four Challenges
  4. The Swimmer's Toolbox
  5. The Formula 4 One™

Each lesson is approximately 15 minutes long and gives you the key concepts, shared language and background you'll need for the Collective experience.

THE MINDSET SET - A PRIVATE PODCAST

Within the Swim Mindset Collective, mindset training happens throughout the season via The Mindset Set - a private podcast for Collective members.  Swimmers can listen to each 3–5 minute lesson on their way to school or to practice—or any time that fits into their day.

Each week, swimmers will have a simple rhythm of learning, repetition, practice and reflection:

  • Sundays - intention setting for the following week and a preview of what we'll be focusing on.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays - short, impactful lessons that go deeper on a key aspect of mindset each week.  Swimmers learn and have an opportunity to apply ideas and techniques in practice and/or meets.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays - repetition and practice. Swimmers revisit the previous day’s lesson to reinforce the ideas and build familiarity with the tools and strategies.
  • Fridays- recap and reflection. Reinforce what was learned and invite personal reflection.

The Mindset Set is not motivational content—it’s mindset training. Each week, swimmers learn practical tools, revisit them through repetition, and put them into practice.

FORMULA 4 ONE™ WORKBOOK

A working playbook for building your personal mindset formula.

  • Capture insights and takeaways from the week's lessons.
  • Track what works, what doesn't, and what you learn about yourself.
  • Refine your approach as you gain experience.

Your mindset formula isn't something you download from someone else.  You build it yourself.

DIRECT INPUT

Swimmers in the founding member program will have regular opportunities to provide feedback on the lessons and topics.  Their feedback helps shape future lessons and keeps the program focused on what swimmers actually need.

SPECIAL TOPICS

At key points in the season — before or after big meets, early in the season, or during major training blocks — there will be deeper-dive lessons on particular topics.  These may include additional videos, longer audio lessons, worksheets, etc.

Perform closer to your potential when it matters most

What you'll gain from the Collective:

  • Know what affects your mindset - Understand what influences your thoughts, attention and performance before and during competition.
  • Know what to do when things don't go according to plan - Learn specific tools and strategies for responding to fear, pressure, disruption and discomfort.
  • Discover what works for you - Build an approach that fits the way YOU think, respond and perform.
  • Refine your personal formula over time - Use what you learn from each meet to continually refine your formula.

Go from feeling uncertain and reactive in high-stakes moments to consistently performing closer to your true potential, armed with a personal mindset formula you can trust, even when championship swimming refuses to follow a script.

This Is For You If...

  • You are a competitive swimmer who wants to take mindset training seriously.
  • You are willing to commit to the process — listening to The Mindset Set regularly and developing your personal formula.
  • You are ready to take consistent action -  learn it, try it, reflect on it, and adjust.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Rebecca Renner

I’ve spent fifty years in and around competitive swimming — as an age grouper, a Division I athlete at Dartmouth, a Masters swimmer, and a swim parent who watched her daughter come up through New England Swimming.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that swimming trains almost everything. Except mindset. When it comes to the demands of racing — handling pressure, adapting when things don't go to plan, staying engaged when things get uncomfortable — swimmers are largely expected to figure it out on their own.

I've combined my experience in swimming with over 20 years at IBM, where I learned to turn complicated ideas into something people could understand and use. Now I bring that same rigor to the part of swim training that has never quite been solved.

Mindset in swimming doesn’t need more inspiration. It needs to become concrete and actionable. That’s the problem the Swim Mindset Collective is here to solve.
